Caribbean poker is a variation of traditional five card poker where the player’s goal is to have the highest five card hand based on the standard high hand ratings found in most poker games. 1. Always bet on the progressive jackpot. The progressive jackpot in Caribbean poker can get pretty high as the came progresses. If you are not betting on the progressive jackpot during each hand you lose out on the opportunity to win the pot. Always place a bet on the progressive pot in every hand you play.
2. Always bet the maximum you can on the progressive jackpot. Perhaps just as important as betting on the progressive jackpot is the importance of betting the maximum your bankroll allows. Placing a larger bet in to the pot not only increases the total pot, but encourages other players at the table to do the same.
3. Do not fold unless you have too. It is common for beginners to fold at the first sight of a bad hand. Folding in Caribbean poker automatically causes you to lose your Ante bet. If you see the possibility of turning your hand around when the second round of cards are dealt, it is best to keep playing rather then forfeit your bet entirely.
4. Pay close attention to the dealer’s hand. Caribbean poker is based off the dealer’s hand. If the dealer’s face up card is a high card, he or she may be able to win that round. However, if the dealer’s hand is not Ace King or higher all players are guaranteed to double their original Ante bet, which is an easy way to make quick cash in Caribbean poker.
5. Spread out your bank roll. It may take several hands to win any serious cash in Caribbean poker. If you have a limited bank roll be sure to spread it out accordingly. Remember that any player is required to raise their Ante bet after the dealer’s hand is revealed, which can quickly decrease your bank roll.
